Care in Los Angeles

Meeting People Where They Are

Our Los Angeles Street Medicine Teams increase access to healthcare for underserved communities, especially for people who are housing insecure. We meet people where they are, on the street, in encampments, in shelters, in rural areas, and who are otherwise excluded from traditional healthcare systems. We provide ongoing care for our patients.

We believe all people deserve quality healthcare, delivered with dignity.

Street Medicine in Los Angeles means providing care in a city where people and circumstances are constantly moving. Our teams serve communities across Metro Los Angeles, South Los Angeles, and East Los Angeles, where people experiencing homelessness may be living in large encampments, on sidewalks, in vehicles, or in smaller locations that can change quickly. Encampment resolutions, moves into interim housing, and other changes can make it challenging to maintain contact with patients and continue care over time. That’s why we’re committed to consistent outreach, building relationships and trust, and making every effort to reconnect with people when their location changes. We work closely with community partners, outreach teams, and other service providers to help maintain those connections and bring medical care, behavioral health support, substance use services, and other resources directly to people where they are.
