The Indio Behavioral Health Crisis Walk-In Center is a voluntary, unlocked walk-in clinic for anyone experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. If you or someone you love is overwhelmed, in a panic, having thoughts of self-harm, or struggling to get through the day — you can walk in and get help right away. Any level of crisis is welcome here. Care is voluntary and unlocked.

Open to everyone in the Coachella Valley

Who We Serve

All ages welcome

Children (ages 5+), adolescents, adults, and seniors — each cared for in separate spaces designed for their age group.

Walk-ins from anywhere

Community members, families, schools, self-referrals. No paperwork, no waitlist, no appointment needed.

Partner referrals welcome

Law enforcement, emergency departments, mobile crisis teams, county clinics, therapists, and community-based organizations.

What happens when you walk in

You'll be greeted by staff who want you here

1

No judgment. Coming in for help is the right move, and our team will make sure you feel that from the moment you arrive.

You'll meet with a clinician and a peer specialist

2

A licensed mental health professional and someone with lived experience of their own recovery. Together, you'll figure out what's going on and what would help most.

You'll get the care you need on-site

3

Crisis counseling, medication support, a safe space to rest — whatever is most useful. If medication would help, a prescriber is on-site.

You'll leave with a plan and a warm handoff

4

A personal safety plan and a connection to whatever comes next — outpatient therapy, primary care, housing support, or a follow-up call. You won't be sent out the door alone.
