Public Health Innovation Lead

 

Mark McGrath, MPH is a public health professional with experience developing innovative approaches to improve communicable disease prevention, screening, and diagnostics. Mark has piloted programs targeting at-risk populations utilizing behavioral economics (gamification) and contingency management programs to increase screening, diagnostics, and treatment for high-risk marginalized groups. He has successfully implemented programs for the testing of sexually transmitted infections including the use of vending machines and mail-in self collection kits. Mark has successfully advocated for the recognition of employment rights for California’s legal sex-workers resulting in improved work conditions and access to employer provided screening and protection services. Mark has also worked with incarcerated populations to improve re-entry services and community reintegration. Additionally Mark has implemented communicable disease screening laboratories within a non-profit setting to include rapid results for patients. He is a proud graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and the Fielding School of Public Health at the University of California, Los Angeles.
