State Medical Coordinator, TX

 

Dr. Kevin Blythe an emergency medicine physician with Envision Healthcare, traveling as part of their Disaster Assistance Response Team.  He is also currently enrolled at the University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine in a Master of Public Health program, concentrating in Global Health.

Kevin did his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, obtaining a Bachelors of Science with a major in Cellular and Molecular Biology.  Afterward, he went to medical school at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN.  Always having an interest in public health and minority health, Kevin completed a health policy certificate program through Robert Wood Johnson Foundation while at Meharry.  As part of that program he did an internship with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in their health programs department. 

He completed residency in emergency medicine at Georgetown University Hospital/Washington Hospital Center.  Then stayed at Georgetown to complete a fellowship in sports medicine. Since finishing medical training, Kevin has worked in emergency medicine and sports medicine in Tennessee, Texas, and Maryland.  He has also worked with the Indian Health Service in Oklahoma and Arizona. 

He currently lives in El Paso, TX with his wife.
